Remember this type of paper bag? The brown paper bag of yesteryear.. ...a rare find these days. Didn't know they still use this. Actually I miss the pinkish pastry with lotus paste from these people. The authentic wedding pastry. These days u get a "Bangawan Solo's voucher instead.

It's been seven years since I last posted in this blog. With the advancement of FB and Instagram, blogging seems so passe! And yet, when out of curiosity, I revisited this site recently, I found much joy in reading my own past blog.  Trivial it may seems.. but definitely makes an interesting read for myself.. There's a lot of "really? " and "did I actually did this or felt his way? Life simple pleasure. Food. U know what is great about Sunday. Boys preparing sinful choc pancakes for me.. though it should be breakfast and now is almost 1pm.... lolz.. it is still worth waiting. I hope.. hahhaa Meanwhile I am trying very hard to concentrate on my Bazi analysis. Study! Is so easy to get distracted. Look I am now blogging. A while ago I was "farming" @ Farmville and clearing weeds @ Barn Buddy. Sigh... must get back to my studying!!!!!!!!!!! Oh wait, forgot to mention. Something else to look forward to tonight. Braised Duck. Will be cooking that later. After my delayed breakfast/brunch, almost lunch maybe teabreak. Even got a bottle of white chilling in the fridge for tonight. Nice eh. Ok, so now while waiting for boys to get pancakes ready, i better go back to study. And yes, photos coming later. Finally get to eat at 130pm :p Lucky mummy. Yummy!

Bratwurst with mash potatoes n Gravy

This is specially for Bert. He wanted mashed potatoes. But hey, i did bought the spuds, wanted to cook it but found out at last minute mum used it to cook curry! So sorry, Bert, no mashed potatoes for you. But here, have a look at how we do it and maybe can get Pimpat to cook for you. Here it goes, skinned the Russet potatoes (have to use US Russet, others not as nice), boiled them till soft and add salt, butter, black pepper and milk. Start mashing... And what better to go with mashed spuds but bratwurst and my so special gravy..... and here what i used for my gravy - Barbecue Sauce, Mustard, Some Italian dressings (can substitute with olive oil and some Italian spices), Worchester sauce (not shown here), sugar and for moisture, i added some Heineken....Tiger or Bud will do too :-) Add a bit of cornstarch and stir...
