Iron Chef or Hell's Kitchen?

After a nite out, bar hopping from Boat Quay to Clarke Quay with Shirin, Genevieve and Ran, our Italian Chinese hunk, the last thing I want to do is to get out of bed. But then, at about 1030am, Wendy called to say that she is bringing my dear princess over! No more fever, can come. Great news! But that means lunch to cook without a single thing in the fridge, without a menu mapped out! Mad rush to wash up, gulped down some yakky coffee and went off to get grocery. All this while, planning the menu in my mind; not too sure at that time if I was even dreaming :p 11.15pm Back from market with 3 bagfuls of ingredients A mad rush to wash, chop and cut up all ingredients. Sunday.. relaxing Sunday, everything so blissful. Got a late bfast, brunch, very late lunch. But that's fine cos it's worth waiting for when your sons cook for u. Sinful too but at least my conscious is clear cos i did run just now. Not too much but that's not my fault. It rain! And to compromise, I did my crunches, work on my resistance belt and did a few (hehehee, a few) push up. And yes, amid all the distractions from Barn Buddy and Farmville, I did manage to go thru 2 Bazi analysis. Actually about to work on the 3rd one, but got distracted again. Hey its a Sunday afterall. So it's ok. Braised a duck with a can of beer. This time around the duck is not too intoxicated. Only a can of beer. The last time I added 2 cans but realised that it just evaporates away so no point wasting my beer on that fowl. Wednesday nite is like playing Hell Kitchen for real these days. Ever since I started school and Bez's term begins, we only have Wed, Sat & Sunday to actually sit down and have a meal as a family. And with the uncertainty of weekends, Wed has now officially become the "eat as a family's day". So needless to say, we will go all way out. Planned menu way ahead. Cook a storm and timing it to be ready all on time so that it will be piping hot. .... just like Hell's Kitchen. And for this week, the menu is Potato Salad, Celery & Carrot Sticks with dips, Fresh Homemade tomato soup and Braised Pork Knuckles with chinese bun. Potato salad with sour cream, chopped boiled eggs & bacon bits. Tad of mustard for that extra tangy taste. .
